FamiGuard Pro: Benefits
The internet can be a great and dangerous place for kids. Sure, it can be loads of fun with websites such as YouTube, Twitch, or Roblox. However, kids can often be exposed to inappropriate content online.
In addition to inappropriate content, suspicious people can also contact your children and try to take advantage of them online. A part of parenting is protecting your kids and parental control software, such as FamiGuard Pro, can help you do that.
It offers a host of parental control features that help you protect your kids as they grow up in the digital age. FamiGuard allows you to monitor their phone usage, their screen time, what they’re watching, see who they’re talking to, and the type of content they’re interacting with online.
Parental control software is a must for most parents. It allows parents to keep an eye on their children, implement a time limit for screen time, and block any inappropriate content as well. FamiGuard is no different.
Another responsibility of parents is to help their kids take care of their devices. Here’s how to save space on iPhone to help with that.
FamiGuard Pro: Full Review
FamiGuard is a parental control app from iMyFone. It works for both iOS and Android devices. For this review, I tested out FamiGuard Pro for Android. However, both versions share similar parental control features, with Android having a few more than iOS.
A parental control app can either be overt or covert. FamiGuard Pro has a stealth mode, but hiding it on your child’s device is optional. Personally, I like my younger brother to know that his device is being monitored. This way, we can have discussions about his phone usage.
FamiGuard For Android
The Android version of FamiGuard Pro offers some impressive parental control features that allow parents to keep a keen eye on their kids. The parental control features are broken down into categories:
- Phone Files
- Location Tracking
- Social Apps
- Remote Control
The Phone Files section allows you to view various data on your child’s phone such as call logs, messages, calendar, browser history, videos, and photos.
You can also view their app activity, which shows you the size of the app, when it was installed, and the screen time. This can help you implement a time limit for your child’s screen time.
There’s also a Keylogger feature that records all of the information typed on the phone. What these parental control features allow you to do is to make sure your kids are not communicating with anyone suspicious or sharing anything inappropriate.
Here’s a demonstration of viewing browser history with FamiGuard Pro:
When it comes to children, every parent/guardian wants to know their child’s whereabouts, to know that they’re safe and doing what they are supposed to be doing. A must-have for any parental control app is location monitoring and FamiGuard is no different.
FamiGuard’s Location Tracking feature allows you to pinpoint the device’s location. In addition to this, there’s a geofencing feature that can be used to create safe and restricted zones for your children.
If your child leaves the safe zone, you’ll receive a geofence alert and be able to pinpoint where they’re headed and know if they’re safe or not.
Lastly, the Location Tracker also has a Wi-Fi Logger feature that allows you to see which Wi-Fi networks your kids have connected to. It also tells you how long they’ve been connected to a network.
Here’s a video showing you FamiGuard Pro’s location capabilities:
A lot happens on social media, and while whether a child should have a social media account or not is debatable, many have one without their parent’s knowledge. Social media can be a great way to keep in touch with friends, and family. However, it can also not be a safe place for a child without supervision.
FamiGuard allows you to monitor your child’s social media activity. It provides you with a view of Facebook, Messenger, Tinder, Telegram, Kik, Viber, LINE, WeChat, QQ, and WhatsApp.
FamiGuard primarily provides screenshots of these platforms, with the exception of WhatsApp. For WhatsApp, you’ll get screenshots, as well as copies of the messages sent and received on the device.
If you want more WhatsApp monitoring features then check out FamiGuard Pro for WhatsApp.
The Remote Control feature of FamiGuard Pro is as its name suggests. You can use it to control specific features of the phone without the user’s knowledge. It allows you to record calls for up to 20 minutes at a time. You can also capture screenshots and take photos with the phone’s back camera.
Luckily, these parental control features are not always a necessity but they can come in handy in an emergency.
Give FamiGuard Pro for Android a try, it’s worth it!
FamiGuard For iOS
As mentioned before, FamiGuard Pro for iOS offers fewer parental control features than the Android version. This is usually the case for many parental control apps, as iPhones have tighter security than Androids. However, FamiGuard Pro for iOS still offers great parental control features.
It’s no surprise, as its parent company is responsible for other great iOS software such as AnyFix.
The main difference between FamiGuard Pro for iOS and Android is that the iOS version doesn’t have the Remote Control feature.
FamiGuard Pro for iOS has all the Phone Files capabilities as the Android version plus you’re able to view Notes, Reminders, and listen to Voice Memos on the target iOS device.
In addition, Location Tracking is only limited to location history and tracking. You cannot use the iOS version to view the Wi-Fi Tracker or use FamiGuard’s geofence reports or alerts.
The Social Apps section for iOS also supports fewer social media networks than the Android version. While Android gives a view of Facebook, Messenger, Tinder, Telegram, Snapchat Kik, Viber, LINE, WeChat, QQ, and WhatsApp.
The iOS version of FamiGuard Pro only gives you a view of WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE, Viber, Kik, and QQ.
As mentioned before, there are two separate FamiGuard Pro products for Android and iOS devices. The prices for each differ as FamiGuard Pro for Android offers more parental control features than the version available for iOS devices.
FamiGuard Pro for Android offers three subscription plans:
- 1-Month Plan – $29.95 per month.
- 3-Month Plan – $16.65 per month which is billed at $49.95 every 3 months.
- 1-Year Plan – $8.32 per month which is billed at $99.95 per year.
