You may feel that you have to look at your notifications as soon as they arrive. You may get so many of them that you feel that your notification bar is going to explode. The good news is that you can keep a clean notification bar and not have to panic because you forgot to deal with a particular notification.

The downside is that Android doesn’t offer any type of solution for this. If you leave the notifications there, they will pile up, and if you swipe them away, there’s a good chance you’ll forget about them. I’ve lost count how many times that’s happened to me. In order to prevent that happening to you follow this guide to save notifications on Android and set reminders to view them later.

How To Keep Android Notifications From Disappearing Forever

To keep your notifications from disappearing forever, you’ll need to install the Boomerang Notifications app. The app is free to install from Google Play. When you first launch the app, you’re going to go through a setup guide, and at the end, you’ll need to tap on Agree.

How to Save Notifications on Android

You’ll also need to tap on Enable and then allow the app Notification access. Once you’ve given the app access, just go back one step and tap on the Next button. Make sure to read everything carefully since the app will ask you if you want to use the notifications-saving feature with all your apps or not. The other option would be to use it on a per-app basis.

It is recommended that you leave it on the first alternative that would be the per-app method. Tap on Next, and you should now see all the apps you have installed on your phone.

Go through your apps and choose the ones you would like to save the notifications for. Once you’ve selected all the apps you want, go back one step to finish setting up the app. In regards to setup, that is all you need to do.

How to Save Notifications on Android and Get Reminded Later

When the next notification comes around, you can swipe right or left to dismiss it, or you can tap on them to see them. After you have done one of these actions, you’ll automatically see another notification from Boomerang with some options.

Never lose an Android notification ever again


There will be options to Save the notification you dismissed and whenever you want to take a look at it, simply go to the app’s main menu. The other option you have is to press the Save + Reminder button.

After, you’ll need to manage that reminder by either asking to be reminded sometime later, sometime tomorrow or at a particular time and date.

If you chose a reminder for a particular notification, it’s going to be a notification posted by Boomerang. It’s not going to be the actual app, but you will see the full message of the app you dismissed, so you won’t miss anything.

Did you miss an app? Not to worry, you can always open up the app again and go to the Recent Notifications tab. There, you’ll find a Manage Active Apps button where you can add more apps to the list. That way you can rest assure that you won’t permanently lose any notifications for those apps as well.

Until you get a notification, you won’t even notice you have the app on your phone. It won’t show you any spam notifications and add any other apps without your permission. This is definitely a must-have app for any Android device. It’s useful for those times when you just don’t have time to deal with those notifications.
