Snapchat notifications from a particular person or group can be annoying at times. On top of that, Snapchat sends a push notification for typing indicator as well so you have to deal with 2 notifications for a snap. This can cause a lot of distraction as plenty of friends send useless snaps just trying to increase their snap score. Or as a matter of fact, you might not be interested in their messages. If that’s the case, then in this guide we let you know how you can enable Do Not Disturb on Snapchat for specific friends or groups. Activating Do Not Disturb mode will turn off notifications from them.
Do Not Disturb On Snapchat
You can block or remove someone on Snapchat. However, that’s not the ideal solution if you’re only trying to get rid of the notifications. For disabling notifications, follow the steps below.
Turn Off Snapchat Notifications For Specific Friends Or Groups
Update the Snapchat app from the respective app store. I have used screenshots from the iPhone app (version 10.26.1.0) but Android users won’t face any difficulty while following them.
1. Open the Snapchat app and go the Friends tab. You can do so either by swiping right on the Camera screen or tap on the chat icon at the bottom left.
2. Now, long tap/press on the name of the friend or group for which you turn off notifications.
3. After that, a pop-up will appear. Tap on Settings.
4. Finally, select Do Not Disturb.
This will activate Do Not Disturb and you won’t receive notifications from that person or group. Similarly, you can turn off notifications for other friends or groups if desired.
If you wish you can enable notifications for those friends/groups. Here’s how.
Open Snapchat > Friends > Long tap/press on the name of the friends for whom you have enabled Do Not Disturb > Select Turn On Notifications.
With this, Do Not Disturb mode will be disabled and you will start receiving notifications from that person again.
We hope you were able to activate Do Not Disturb on Snapchat. This is definitely a nifty addition to the app allowing users to turn off notifications for particular friends or groups. Do you find it useful? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
