Week Cal for iPhone Support

iOS5: Notification Center

Why doesn’t Week Calendar show in the Notification Center?

The Notification Center is for missed/recent notifications (and for the ways to manage them), not for lists of data, such as upcoming calendar events.
3rd party apps, such as Week Calendar, cannot show anything besides popup alerts in the iOS Notification Center.

But the Native Calendar shows up?

Yes. Apple apps are granted special powers that non-Apple apps are not allowed to do. This is something technically not feasible on iOS5 for non-Apple apps.

If you would like to see this changed, please leave Apple feedback: here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

Disappearing Google events / calendars

If you synch your data with Google Drive, note that Google Calendar is experiencing problems that can make shared calendars or sub calendars disappear on iPhone devices from time to time.

The same thing actually happens in the native Calendar app and other calendar apps as well, so it’s not related to Week Calendar but an issue on Google’s side.

Possible solution #1

Some users have reported their problems were fixed after resetting the iPhone sync settings here: https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect

Possible solution #2

Google told us a way to fix this is to reinstall your Google account on the iPhone device via System Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Removing the account and re-adding it should do.

Contact Google

Otherwise please contact Google Calendar support about this issue, since it’s an issue at Google’s end.

This also works for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly repeats.

iOS5 BADGES DON’T WORK

Since iOS5, you need to enable app-badges manually in the System Settings of your iPhone for them to work correctly:

  1. Go to System Settings
  2. Go to Notifications
  3. Enable Week Cal
  4. Ensure you have selected Week Cal and not Calendar in the previous step
  5. Enable Badges for Week Calendar
  6. Reboot your device

Also, make sure that you did not disable badges in the first place.

How do I add birthdays to the birthday calendar?

The birthday calendar is managed by the iPhone OS and automatically filled with the dates-of-births of your contacts from the Contacts app. To add a new birthday to this calendar, please set the date-of-birth for the appropriate contact.

  1. Go to the Contacts App and select the contact to add a birthday to. Now tap “Edit”.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Add field”
