In iOS 11, Apple made quite a lot of changes to the Control Center. One of the significant improvements was the possibility to customize the controls. This means that from iOS 11 onwards you can choose the options you want in the Control Center and get rid of the others. See our earlier guide where we added screen recording to Control Center. Apart from that, there are a lot of options moved under the visible controls. So, if AirDrop is missing in your iPhone/iPad Control Center then it’s because of the same reason. But don’t you worry as this tutorial will show you exactly where to find it so you can easily turn on/off AirDrop from Control Center on iOS 11.
To access Night Shift option from Control Center in iOS 11 you need to 3D Touch or long press on the brightness slider. Similarly, AirDrop is also not missing, it’s just moved to a different screen in Control Center. So, let’s get to the method.
Turn On/Off AirDrop From Control Center On iOS 11
1. Bring up Control Center by swiping upwards from the bottom of the home screen.
2. Now, if you have iPhone 6 or earlier then press and hold or 3D Touch in case you own iPhone 6S or later on any one of the following options – Airplane, Cellular Data, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
3. After that, a new screen will pop up. In that window, you should see AirDrop option. You can easily enable or disable it by tapping on it.
4. When you tap on it, it will give 3 options. To turn on AirDrop and start receiving files on your iOS device select Contacts Only or Everyone. In order to disable it select Receiving Off.
All this while you were looking to add AirDrop to Control Center but in reality, iOS 11 has included it by default but somewhat hidden. However, that doesn’t matter anymore as now you know how to access it.
