Get a Great Personal Assistant by Adding Amazon Alexa to Your Phone
Don’t get me wrong, every time you say, ¨Ok, Google¨, you can ask for just about anything (except for a loan). Google wants to keep their users happy, so you don’t have the slightest interest in looking for another assistant.
So, if you feel like cheating on Google and want to install Amazon Alexa on your phone, the good news is that it’s not as hard as you may think it is. All you’re going to need is one app and your Amazon account credentials.
How to Get Amazon Alexa on iPhone, Mac, and Android Phone
To get the process started, you’ll need to install an app called Reverb. It’s a free app you can install right now from Google Play or iTunes. Once you have the app installed launch the app, and then you’ll need to sign into your account before you can start enjoying the app.
To get Alexa’s attention, just tap and hold (or click and hold). You should see the word listening at the top of your display. Alexa should now give you the response to whatever it is you asked it.
You’ll like that with Reverb; you can do all the things you can do with Amazon Echo. You can also use Reverb to interact with Skills (if you’ve enabled it of course). If you’re using Reverb on your Android device, you’ll see a hamburger icon where you can gain access to your alarms and timers and also for getting help with the app as well.
There is one slight downside if you’re using the app on an iPhone. Even though you can use the Alarms and Timers feature, you won’t be able to find a dedicated section so you can see them. If you need to see them, you’ll need to use the Alexa companion app to see all of your alarms and timers.
If you like to keep things simple, then I can guarantee that you’re going to love Reverb for Mac. Just click on the button say or ask anything and let go. After that, you should get your answer and hopefully, it’s the correct one.
One thing to keep in mind is that there are no options to look at your Alarms, Timers, shopping lists and more. In this case, you’re going to depend on the Alexa website for those things.
If you’re on iOS and want to have more options, just in case you experience any problems with the app you can try Astra. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of great options on Android, but hopefully, that will change in the near future.
Reverb is a great app that gives that special something to your Mac, iPhone or Android device. You can so pretty much everything you would be able to do if you were to use Google’s assistant.
If you use Alexa a lot, you are going to find this app useful and wonder how you ever did without it. After you give the app a try, don’t forget to share your thoughts about the app in the comments.
