Bethesda Game Studios’ E3 showcase for the year was more about updates to the company’s best-selling and the industry’s legendary games. With a new, never heard before title for the year, Bethesda as usual did not disappoint us with its exciting E3 gameplay routine and with a sneak peek into the world of the next game in the Dishonored series. Let’s jump to the games now.
1. Quake Champions
Bethesda is bringing Quake back with a new title, Quake Champions. As far as the multiplayer games were accepted in those days, Quake set new standards for the genre. The trailer was amazing and more will be shown at Bethesda’s annual gathering, Quakecon. Champions is a competitive, arena style, FPS for the PC designed for players of all skill levels. Bethesda claims that Quake Champions will be fast running at a 120Hz with unlocked frame rate. The game features unique and badass characters each with unique attributes and attitude. We believe it’s going to change the game again.
2. Elder Scrolls Legends: A Strategy Card Game
At the last year’s showcase Bethesda gave us an idea of its newest strategy card game. This year we were shown the complete insides. When the game begins you discover the path into the world of Elder Scrolls in the way you haven’t seen before. There is a strategic depth to the game and winning or losing is all dependent on the choices you make. Well, it’s a card game so that should be the case. Elder Scrolls Legends will be coming to Mac, iOS and Android later this year.
3. Fallout 4 add-ons
This particular title from last year disrupted the gaming industry and here is Bethesda again bringing some awesome updates to the title.
Contraptions Workshop: This new add-on will be released next week which includes elevators, weapon racks, armor racks, track kits, sorting machines and conveyer belts to feed your creativity and make something awesome in the industry’s most popular game.
Vault-Tec Workshop: This new add-on will allow you to build your own vault from ground up using walls, floors and whatnot while eliminating nosy creatures. You can experiment on dwellers. The idea seemed to be taken from the company’s own Fallout Shelter. The add-on will be released in July.
4. Fallout Shelter updates
With this new update you can send dwellers on quests, get out of your vault and explore different locations, battle new enemies with an all-new combat system. There are also new characters introduced in this major update. Fallout Shelter is also coming to PC in July.
5. Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Special Edition
This new special edition to the already amazing Skyrim will bring new graphics and shaders to the game. Remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, new snow shaders and new water shaders will be the major changes in the special edition. For the consoles, the mods will be playable now. For PC, XBOX One and PS4 the game has a release date of October 28, this year.
From the creators of Dishonored, this is another first person immersive game set in a dangerous universe with a psychological thrill. Set in the year 2032, you are a key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever. Things get wrong when the aliens are hunting you and that’s how the story goes. Take a look at the E3 reveal trailer.
7. Elder Scrolls Online updates
The new update will introduce the iconic Dark Brotherhood quest from the Elder Scrolls Oblivion as a DLC for XBOX One and PS4. The update will also include One Tamriel which will allow the players to associate with any group and explore the world of Tamriel without any level restrictions. From the moment the tutorial ends you are allowed to explore the world freely and you can play wherever you want with whomever you want. One Tamriel will be available this fall.
8. Dishonored 2
This new addition to the dishonored series was let’s say the sole reason I was watching the showcase. Dishonored 2 continues from the story of the first title and will be more immersive and challenging from the previous game. You can play as Emily or as her father Corvo. Emily has new magical powers of her own which including Shadow Walk and Mesmerize. The gameplay seemed awesome and frankly I had the goosebumps when the gameplay showed switching between the past and the present to execute enemies. This was the first peek into the world of Dishonored 2 since its announcement in the last year’s E3 showcase. See it for yourself.
With these awesome new titles and the updates the E3 showcase for Bethesda came to an end.
