You may have to do it with important documents considering that the PDF can be shared with a lot of people without having your control over it. So protecting the document with PDFelement is the best you can do.

To do this, you have to go to the protect tab and then you can protect your document in 2 ways.

First, you can make your entire document password protected, which means that anyone who wants to open that document, will have to input the password to get it open. For this, you have to click on the Lock icon.

And now, a new window will open up. Here, you can set a password to open the document, and along with that, you can also set a password that’ll be required to change any security settings of the file.

Secondly, you can permanently protect/redact sensitive part of the PDF document by marking it manually. For this to work, first you have to click on Mark items icon.
