Halloween’s a great time to get some extra learning done. This week, lots of little ghouls, superheroes and even robots were running around Google with their families, so we asked them to hang out around our parked cars. This gives our sensors and software extra practice at recognizing children in all their unique shapes and sizes, even when they’re in odd costumes.

The company wrote on their Google Self Driving Car Project page.

But in the testing phase the cars will have a detachable steering wheel and acceleration and braking pedals to be used when the need arises.

Google is constantly working on the project to present more sophistication to its highest standards of security and pattern learning of the traffic. The current testing is being done in the states of California and Texas using the modified Lexus SUV’s and their custom built from ground up prototype bubble vehicle.
